0I am honored to serve as President of NYAPSA at a time when pretrial services across New York are being asked to do more, communicate better, and continue adapting to the needs of our courts, communities, and the people we serve.
I come to this role with a practical view of the work. Pretrial services do not look the same in every county or every agency. Some programs are county-operated, some are housed within probation, and others are led by nonprofit or community-based providers. That variety is real, and it matters. NYAPSA’s strength is our ability to bring those different perspectives together.
My goal is for NYAPSA to be a useful, active, and credible resource for the field — not just an association in name, but a place where professionals can learn, share what is working, talk honestly about what is challenging, and help shape the future of pretrial services in New York.
Whether you are a longtime member, new to pretrial services, a court or community partner, or simply looking to better understand this work, I am glad you are here.
